In its initial developmental phase, Open includes ETD metadata from the British Library’s ETh OS Service, the University of Florida, Florida State University, Clemson University, the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Cornell University and the University of Kentucky.

More than 260 libraries are currently participating and more than 2 million theses and dissertations are expected to be added in 2019.
