This course is online is comprised of oral histories and short videos, interactive learning objects, and artifacts from the Museum's collection.In-course activities will include discussion forums and interactions with faculty members, including questions and answers.

The symposium will be filled with captivating lectures—from both Museum historians and Hawai'i Pacific University faculty—divided into four sessions.

Tour highlights include access to important historic sites, a visit to the USS anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks—The National WWII Museum and New Orleans PBS member station WYES broadcasted two live, interactive, student webcasts focusing on the events of that momentous day.

Three of them, John Bradley, Ira Hayes (Pima) and Rene Gagnon, survived the war while the remaining three, Sgt.

Frank Sousley, and Corporal Harlon Henry Block, were either killed on Iwo Jima or died before the war had ended.

Middle school students in grades 5-8 must write and submit an essay that is 500 words or less and entries will be eligible to win up to $250 and other prizes.
