However, the solution-focused therapy has been highlightedas one of the most efficient and effective.

However, in some sense, it agrees with the concept of normal family development on the basis of the believe that family members and a family’s have the capability of formulating solutions for their problems.

Additionally, it considers a family based on different levels just as defined by normal family development.

In this theory, the therapist or counselor has no pre-conceived idea about the client’s problem and has no intentions of understanding the cause of the problem.

Simply put, this approach focuses, not on the clients past, or causes of the problems, but focuses on what the client wants, or where the client wants to go (Nelson, 2010).

In this case, both have agreed on a divorce, and; therefore, Solution-Focused Family Therapy is ideal because focuses on what the client wants or where the client wants to go and not on the clients past, or causes of the problems (Nelson, 2010).

For this to happen, there is a need to let the client present the problem without having any intentions of understanding the cause of the problem or any pre-conceived ideas about the client’s problem.

The conversation in a Solution-Focused Family therapy session is aimed at coming up with and achieving what the client envisions as a solution to his/her problem.

This therapeutic approach was founded on the belief that clients have the capability of getting what they need, and this only needs to be brought to light, given some impetus and set in motion.
